RECOVERING FROM A WORKOUT

So you are stuck in quarantine mode and have finally decided to get on an exercise regimen.  Congrats!  Some of you reading this may have been working out all along, congrats to you too!

This article is mainly to give you some options for recovery for your workout and even pre-work out. The focus here, will of course be on alternative options such as CBD, specifically our BioCX complex of oil-free CBD.

Some things that can be done after a workout are:

  • Hydrate (drink plenty of fluids)
  • Massage (maybe even use a foam roller)
  • Heat, Ice compressions
  • Eat - try to eat at least half an hour after
  • Rest - make sure to get a goodnight sleep that evening.

You may be tempted if you are really sore or in pain, to just pop an Advil, Tylenol or other pain med but this is not recommended at all for a variety of reasons but when it comes to working out there was a study published in the August 2017 issue of Acta Physiologica that found that "taking the maximum dosage of over-the-counter ibuprofen stalled progress during an eight-week resistance training program geared toward building muscle and strength in young adults." (Source: Everyday Health)

This is where the alternative option comes in: CBD.  Some studies have shown that CBD has the ability to lower blood pressure. There was a report in 2018 that found that because of CBD's anti-inflammatory properties, it may be an effective way to relieve the soreness exercise can cause, as well as shorten recovery time following a workout.

Most of you are familiar with CBD Oil but now there is a new and better way to get your daily does of CBD with a higher bio-availability and that is via OIL-FREE CBD.  If you are not sure what the difference is, you can read more about it here.

I won't spend to much time on this particular article focusing on the difference because you can always go back and reference to the articles linked.  What I can share with you is that taking CBD (oil-free) will give you a higher rate of absorbency in your body, therefore, being more effective and helping you recover faster. As previously mentioned, CBD has anti-inflammatory properties and it also improves quality of sleep to support the repair process, and alleviates symptoms like pain or muscle tension.

There are a few options to help with sports recovery that we offer when it comes to CBD.  You can take CBD Daily, which not only will help you with post-workout recovery, but it may also help you with a host of other things.

It can help with: IMSPAM

  • Inflammation
  • Metabolism
  • Sleep
  • Pain
  • Appetite
  • Mood

Also, CBD has been shown to decrease inflammation when it is rubbed on muscles as an ointment , so you can also consider using the Relief Lotion or Salve (personally, I recommend the Relief Lotion.)

Not only does the relief lotion contain 400 mg of water-dissolvable BioCx - CBD complex, it also contains ingredients such as:

  • Arnica Extract,
  • Emulsifying Wax,
  • Organic Coconut Oil,
  • DMSO, Usnea Extract,

Remember, that how you recover can be just as important as how hard you train and workout.
